My dream wedding at Sandy Creek Barn

This would probably explain why I have been missing for a year.... I planned a wedding to celebrate Stephen and I's marriage! It was the perfect weekend, I could not have asked for anything better! We were married at the Sandy Creek barn in Greensboro, GA. It is a Ritz Carlton property, and my dream venue! It is on 800 private acres with a private lake. The barn was built in Pennsylvania in the 1820s and was moved to Georgia and was a private retreat of the Reynolds family for years.

We stayed at the Ritz Carlton at Reynolds Plantation. It is such a gorgeous property on Lake Oconee, about an hour and twenty minutes east of Atlanta.

We had fun by the pool with family Thursday and Friday! Friday night the rehearsal dinner was held at the Ritz's Linger Longer steak house. The Altenbach's hosted an amazing dinner and welcome party for all guests afterwards!
Stephen's grooms cake was fantastic! People thought it was real at first glance!

 My fabulous bridesmaids!

Saturday morning my grandmothers hosted a bridesmaids brunch at the Ritz's Spa! It was so perfect because we could get hair and makeup done while eating and drinking in the garden!

We had so much fun, bugsy did too :)

The barn is about 20 minutes away from the Ritz's lodge. You will see why I fell in love with it :)

My florist Zeb Grant was out of this world! He was recommended to me by my  Wedding Planner, Nancy with No Regrets Events. Without her hard work and recommendations none of this would have been possible!

Our theme was rustic, cotton, pheasants, pumpkins, farm tables and linen. Zeb and Nancy nailed it!

The ceremony took place in front of the barn, I loved the color of the doors and decided to match the bridesmaids dresses with them. Here are a few photos from the ceremony.

My beautiful mom, the master mind behind the decor. Oh and Bugsy came too.

I have never been so happy!!! Our pastor did a fantastic service! Afterwards everyone joined in on a cocktail hour on the lakeside of the barn. We had bon fires, corn hole, a canoe full of beer and music!

The barn has a beautiful boat house on the lake which was the perfect setting for photos.

My dress was designed by Romona Keveza and I bought it at Joan Pillow Bridal in Atlanta.

After the ceremony the guests walked through this breeze way for cocktail hour, we had a memory table and collages of photos of Stephen and I.

My cousin, Charlie, the best little flower girl in the world!
 A very happy bride!
Furthest traveler was my aunt and cousin from Istanbul, Turkey!
 Welcome toast by dad!

Our band was Az-Izz, they were fabulous! Coordinated high energy dances! I had a lot of compliments and I would highly recommend them! They played for four hours with not one break!

Here are a few photos from my fabulous photographer, Priscilla Wannamaker. I will post more of hers in another post!

They are just breathtaking! I love her classic photography. It is so timeless. Priscilla was a joy to work with! I would like to thank, Goodwin Events, they have fabulous farm tables, twinkle lights and chairs! The Ritz-Carlton at Reynolds Plantation, loved the service, food (they even made our favorite sweet potato blue cheese soup for us) and especially the location and setting was priceless! Nancy Kuperberg with No Regrets Events, she was so organized, calm and informative at all times! She has impeccable taste and amazing talent! Zeb Grant was my dream florist! He went above and beyond what I ever dreamed of! My cake was by Debra Adams, it was five layers and every layer was different! We had grand marnier/blueberry, southern caramel pecan, peanut butter and chocolate, carrot cake and red velvet cake! It was all delicious.

I am so thankful my parents were so supportive and hosted the wedding of my dreams. I could not be more thankful for them! I am so excited to start my life as Ashley Altenbach, and to have married the man of my dreams. He is everything I have ever wanted in a husband.

PS- Thanks for the photos yall! Hope you all don't mind me using them :)

  1. The view at this place was amazing. This wedding reception was in the evening so it’s really a site to see when the sun sets. Just beautiful! If you are planning your wedding here, don't worry too much about how to make it look even more beautiful.
